A Place for Your Story to be Heard
A Place to Experience Hope and Healing

About Jack's Approach
Beginning the journey of counseling takes a lot of courage. Jack's is committed to providing a safe place for people to process their story.

Jack's journey in counseling began over 20 years ago when hope emerged unexpectedly through an insightful and caring counselor. This showed him how the kindness of God leads us in personal change. Over time, God was faithful to bring healing from the shame and anxiety that had caused so much distress in Jack's life. This backstory provides the heart from which he comes alongside others in counseling.

Jack has worked with individuals of all ages, couples, and families. His expertise is in anxiety and depression treatment, mood disorders, sexual issues, and dealing with drug and alcohol recovery.
He believes it would be an honor to begin this journey with you!
About Jack
After working for five years in campus ministry, Jack's family moved to Dallas so he could attend seminary to study biblical counseling. During seminary, he spent three years in children's and youth ministry. He is currently a Licensed Professional Counselor and a certified Biblical Counselor doing counseling and outdoor experiential therapy out of Garland and Dallas. He has been a therapist for 7 years on the counseling team at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas. He has also been a mental health professional working with children and adolescents in Garland ISD for 3 years. He considers it a privilege and joy to counsel people of all ages.

Anxiety
Depression can leave us unable to find purpose and pleasure in life. Although difficult circumstances may not change, empathic and compassionate counseling can help you find the courage to process sadness. Together we will move toward the God who hears, cares and speaks words of hope and healing.
Living with anxiety is exhausting. It can grip our mind and body with a vague, unspecified fear. Together we will look beneath the fear and worry to seek the God of Peace and his will.
Pre-Maritial and Marriage Counseling
Trauma
Children and Adolescents
Whether engaged or married, each season in the journey of marriage has its blessings and challenges. Together we will explore the purpose of marriage and how it provides lasting hope for all couples. Husbands and wives can grow closer to one another as God's kindness, love, and forgiveness leads each of them through personal change.
Whether it is substance abuse, a sexual struggle; or something else, addiction is enslaving. Although, it isn't the problem, but the symptom. There is something beneath the surface: a reason for the unwanted thoughts and behaviors. Exploring these can lead to healing and freedom as we see God's presence and love in our stories. Jack's journey in counseling began as he struggled with addictions over 20 years ago. He is thankful to have had the privilege of coming alongside many others in this same process of healing, hope, and freedom.
At times God lets overwhelming events touch our lives. You may have asked why would a loving God allow this? He hears these questions. Scripture says, he weeps with us in our pain. Whether it is a recent trauma or something in the far past, these events can effect how we think and feel on a daily basis. In therapy, Jack seeks to build trust through creating a safe setting where vulnerability and healing can happen.
Through my experience working at elementary; middle; and high schools, I have gained understanding into the developmental levels of children and adolescents. As a counselor, this allows me to approach them in ways that help them feel understood and comfortable expressing themselves.
